  Day 2 – 8:00am to 4:30pm.(15 min. breaks @ 9:45am and 2:30pm) Lunch: 11:30am - 12:30p
Course Overview
The Electronic Field Book Processor (EFBP) is utilized for conversion of field survey observations, normally collected with FDOT's Electronic Field Book (EFB), into coordinates.  EFBP generates a series of reports which must be interpreted by the surveyor in judging the quality of the numerical information.  This seminar will cover the basics of use of EFBP, and then go through several examples of processing, in a very question and answer oriented fashion.  This seminar does not assume prior use of EFBP but assumes knowledge of survey techniques and simple survey coordinate generation.

Course: Understanding Photogrammetric Products for the Layperson - VC
Provider: Florida Department of Transportation
Instructor: Dr. Raymond J. Hintz, University of Maine (FL PSM#4908)
Event Dates: June 16th, Webinar, interactive instructor led statewide.
Class Clock: 8:00am to 5:00pm. (15 min. breaks @ 10:00am and 3:00pm) Lunch: 11:30am - 12:30p
Course Overview
Photogrammetry can be an extremely efficient method for collection of topographic information for surveying/engineering projects.  In recent times the use of digital (raster) imagery corrected for systematic error has served as an alternative to photogrammetric line and symbol (vector) CAD products.  Likewise a reviewer of photogrammetric deliverables needs to have an understanding of how time and cost estimates are derived - a FDOT spreadsheet will be used to illustrate.  Finally, new technologies such as soft copy photogrammetry, airborne GPS, inertial measuring units, and digital cameras will be presented with typical applications.  Existing projects will be shown via computer projection to illustrate concepts.  The entire seminar is intended to be very interactive oriented to get your questions answered. As a part of this training FDOT Image Services Staff will provide a step by step “walk through” of the FDOT Surveying and Mapping Aerial Photo Lookup System (APLUS). The APLUS system allows  the end user the ability to retrieve, view and order current and historic aerial products from the FDOT aerial image archives.
