Skyway Approach Spans Beam Tests

Recently two AASHTO Type IV beams, built to simulate the existing Skyway Approach Span beams, were tested to failure to investigate the cause of cracking found at the end of the beams and the effectiveness of a proposed repair.

I-75 Main Canal A Beams

Five tests to failure were conducted on beams recovered from an I-75 bridge near Sarasota. The tests should allow the Department to more accurately rate similar bridges.
