State Materials Office
Introduction
The State Materials Office, located in Gainesville, establishes policies and procedures for the Florida Department of Transportation's Materials Program, which are carried out at the district level. This office works in conjunction with six district materials offices that are located in Bartow, Chipley, Davie, Deland, Lake City and Pompano Beach. The State Materials Office develops the criteria for acceptable material quality, provides technical assistance and support to the districts in solving material related problems, and monitors field activities for compliance with federal and state policies and procedures.
