The following is a list of Florida Department of Transportation specifications that contain references to recycled materials used in Department projects:

Asphalt

Concrete

Soils

  • Specification 987: Composted Finish Soil Layer
  • Specification 120: Soil Incineration By Products - With Certificate of Materials Recycling and Post-Burn Analysis indicating below allowable pollution concentrations.
  • Specification 120: Embankment - Broken Portland Cement Concrete and concrete rubble reduced to specification size, Reclaimed Asphalt Pavement - Project specific as blended or alternating layers.
  • Specification 914: Soil Stabilization - May consist of recycled products meeting general stabilizer requirements (concrete rubble, Portland Cement Concrete Pavement, asphalt coated bases, roof tiles).

Aggregates

  • Specification 902: Fine Aggregate - Local materials - Any materials meeting requirements for size, hardness and durability. Screenings from reclaimed Portland Cement Concrete pavement.
  • Specification 334: Crushed Glass (not in surface course)
  • Specification 901: Coarse Aggregate - Reclaimed Portland Cement Concrete.
  • Specification 204: Base - Reclaimed Portland Cement Concrete, reclaimed general crushed concrete.
