December 2011: 2012 Edition Update
The 2012 Edition of the BOE has been updated and posted online. Several Estimates Bulletins were incorporated into the updated files. A list of changes, including expanded detail information, corrections, and changes to specific pay items, is included in the Recent Changes file.
February 2011: BOE Archive
Archive editions of the Basis of Estimates were added. Please read the notice at the top of the Archive page.
December 2010: 2011 Edition update
The 2011 Edition of the BOE has been updated and posted online. Estimates Bulletin 10-08 summarizes several minor changes; it may be found with the Estimates Bulletins. A list of changes, including expanded detail information, corrections, and changes to specific pay items, is included in the Recent Changes file.
May 2010: 2010 Edition update
The 2010 Edition of the BOE has been updated and posted online. There is NO Summary of Major Changes, however, users are advised to review the online Estimates Bulletins. A list of changes is included in the Recent Changes file.

October 2007: 2008 Edition
The 2008 Edition of the BOE has been posted online. There is NO Summary of Major Changes, however, users are advised to review the online Estimates Bulletins.
December 2006: Summary of Major Changes (Cover Letter) and 2007 Edition
Major changes include Mowing, Friction Course, Box Culverts, ITS, Signal Strain Poles, Mast Arms, Highway Signs, and Light Poles. Note: Signs & poles updated due to AASHTO wind load design changes.
May 1 2006: Summary of Major Changes (Cover Letter) and 2006 mid-year Update
Major changes include synthetic bales, plastic lumber for fender system, structures expansion joints, optional pipe sizes, desilting, turf, ITS, architectural items, and traffic stripe.
Watch revision dates for individual chapters of BOE pay items.
December 2005-April 2006
Updated selected Chapters to include revised pay items. Dates noted with chapter files.

Summary of Major Changes (Cover Letter) and 2006 Update
Major changes include Dirt/Soil, PG 76-22 asphalt binder, ITS, lighting, and Thermoplastic issues. Pay items for Structures & Utilities have been "cleaned-up", in preparation for the 2007 Master File (Inactive items blocked, pay item structures consolidated). Refer to the Summary of Major Changes and/or item for additional information.
10-20-2005: Chapters 10-20 updated to include revised original statements for documentation.

Summary of Major Changes (Cover Letter) and 2005 Update.
Major changes include Detectable Warning on Walking Surface (ADA "bumps" on sidewalk) and Bridge Floor grooving and planning.
October 2003: Summary of Major Changes (Cover Letter) and 2004 BOE Update.
The BOE has undergone some additional formatting changes. Sections have been re-labeled as Chapters, with some blank chapters included for future enhancement. Refer to the Table of Contents for Details.

Mid-year update includes issues on concrete barrier, ADA curb ramps, sound barriers, and pavement markings.
November 2002: Summary of Major Changes (Cover letter), Sections 2, 4
Cover Letter was updated to reflect new changes to Orange Vest requirements (see Roadway Update pages for copy of letter) and retro-reflectivity of Paint Issue.
Section 2 and Section 4 were updated to include additional formatting changes and to correct/expand structure.
Note: For those seeking Table A for utility item structure, it was included with the Section 4 Introduction.
