The Florida Department of Transportation will hire a part time consultant to act as the Traffic Records Coordinating Committee (TRCC) Coordinator. Section 408 funding will be used to pay the consultant salary and reimburse necessary travel and office expenses.

The TRCC Coordinator will facilitate activities related to the Traffic Safety Information Systems (TSIS) Strategic Plan and be responsible for assuring that the document is a true comprehensive planning document.

The Coordinator will also become aware of all safety data systems projects within Florida and assist the TRCC in its role of project review before implementation and coordination of activities. The Coordinator will also be aware of the status of all TSIS Projects.

The Coordinator will edit the Strategic Plan and prepare the progress reports that are required under Section 408. As editor, the Coordinator will establish and maintain a means by which those accountable for individual projects can provide status information for inclusion in the Annual Report. The coordinator will also coordinate production of the annual Section 408 application.

The Coordinator also will be responsible for assuring that the system-level performance measures are collected and reviewed at least annually in preparation for publishing the Annual Report.
