  • 2012 - FHWA Excellence in Right of Way - Peer of the Year Award.  At a recent AASHTO Conference held in Portland, Oregon, Mr. Edward Rush was awarded the Federal Highway Administration's Peer of the Year Award. This award recognizes Mr. Rush's distinguished and influential career in the real estate field and in his current position as the Manager of Appraisal and Appraisal Review for the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT). Mr. Rush has been recognized for his proactive leadership of FDOT's statewide appraisal and appraisal review programs. Mr. Rush energetically takes on opportunities to improve and enhance the program, has a mentoring and coaching management style that encourages program growth and excellence, and sets a high level of performance expectations for the appraisal and appraisal review programs. Accepting the award on Mr. Rush’s behalf was Jim Spalla, Director, Office of Right of Way, FDOT.

  • 2008 - FHWA Excellence in Right of Way - Innovation Award presented to District Three Right of Way for insight in preserving 3,907 acres in right of way corridors. Resulted in the preservation of 35 future transportation projects in Northwest Florida.


  • 2006 - FHWA Excellence in Right of Way - Streamlining and Innovation Award presented to Right of Way Considerations for Engineers course


  • 2005 - Tampa Bay Regional Planning Council Certificate of Excellence awarded to Right of Way Considerations for Engineers Training


  • 2004 - Davis Productivity Award presented to the Right of Way Management System Team for efforts to measurably increase performance and productivity, making state government more effective, efficient and responsive to Floridians


  • 1999 - American Association of State Highway and Transportation Officials presented the Trailblazer award to the Outdoor Advertising Sign Inventory, Management Systems Task Team


  • 1999 - Davis Productivity Award presented to Outdoor Advertising Inventory Management Systems Task Team for innovation, dedication and commitment to increase the efficiency and effectiveness of state government
