PLEASE NOTE:

The Florida Department of Transportation has revised the Florida Intersection Design Guide (FIDG) to provide designers with a handbook, to be used as guidance, for new construction and major reconstruction of at-grade intersections on the State Highway System. At this time, the FIDG is only available in electronic .PDF format on this website. No hardcopies will be available.

The information contained in the FIDG is based on the Plans Preparation Manual, Design Standards, MUTCD, and other referenced documents. The current forms of these documents (as of the publication date unless otherwise noted) were used in the revision of the FIDG, however, if there is ever a conflict between the FIDG and any approved/adopted criteria or standards, then the approved/adopted criteria or standards shall govern.

Our Office is now working toward the 2012 version of the guide, due for posting later on in the year. This new version will have advanced information regarding Round-Abouts and the Highway Safety Manual.

All FIDG users must register their e-mail addresses in this contact database, and select the Florida Intersection Design Guide as an area of interest in order to receive future update notices, design memos, or other important information concerning the Department's design manuals used.  Users can register at the following link:
