SR 959/SW 57 Avenue: From SW 8 Street to SW 24 Street

 

This roadway construction project will consist of the following: Repaving and restriping SW 57 Avenue from SW 24 Street to SW 8 Street; Constructing new sidewalks along both the west side and east side of SW 57 Avenue; Installing curb and gutter on the west side of SW 57 Avenue; Adding bicycle lanes going northbound and southbound on SW 57 Avenue; Removing trees that conflict with the installation of new drainage structures throughout the project; Installing new traffic signals at the SW 24 Street intersection; Lengthening the existing turn lanes and creating a left-turn only lane at the SW 8 Street intersection for traffic turning from northbound SW 57 Avenue to westbound SW 8 Street; Increasing the lengths of the right and left turn lanes for southbound traffic on SW 57 Avenue to turn onto SW 24 Street; Installing new trees on the east side of SW 57 Avenue.

NW 25th Street Viaduct Project: From State Road 826 to NW 89 Court

 

This project is reconstructing and widening NW 25th Street and constructing a new viaduct. Work also includes signalization, landscaped median, improved lighting and drainage, water and sewer mains and pedestrian features.

SR 5/South Dixie Highway/US 1 Roadway Project: From SW 168 Street to SW 136 Street

 

The project includes replacing sections of sidewalk, curb and gutter, concrete driveways and pedestrian ramps; installing new pedestrian signals at intersections; replacing sections of guardrail; performing safety modifications to the bridge over the C-100 Canal; installing several underground drainage structures; providing a wider outside lane to accommodate bicycles; repaving and restriping the roadway; and updating signage.

 

Project start date: July 2012

SR 5/South Dixie Highway/US 1 Roadway Project: From SW 136 Street to SW 102 Street

 

The project includes replacing sections of sidewalk, curb and gutter, and pedestrian ramps; installing new pedestrian signals at intersections; replacing a section of guardrail; installing several underground drainage structures; updating signalization, including installing a new traffic signal at the intersection of US 1 and SW 120 Street; widening left-turn only lanes at intersections; providing a wider outside lane to accommodate bicycles; leveling several driveways to match the roadway; relocating several trees; repaving and restriping the roadway; and updating signage.

SR 826, SR 7, SR 9 and SR 9A Roadway Project: Ramps within the Golden Glades Interchange

 

The project includes widening several ramps throughout the Golden Glades Interchange to include a paved shoulder; installing several underground drainage structures; replacing sections of guardrail; replacing a section of communications system along SR 826; repaving and restriping several ramps throughout Golden Glades Interchange; and updating signage and pavement markings.

SR 823/West 4 Avenue/NW 57 Avenue Roadway Project: From West 46 Street to West 54 Street

 

The project includes widening the roadway to add a new travel lane in order to provide three northbound and three southbound travel lanes; widening the bridge on West 4 Avenue and West 53 Street; installing new drainage structures to improve the system throughout the corridor; updating lighting and signalization, including replacing several existing traffic signals and light poles, and installing pedestrian signals at intersections; constructing a center median; constructing sidewalk along the east side of the corridor and replacing sections of curb and gutter; installing barrier wall along the west side of the corridor; leveling several driveways to match the roadway; rebuilding and restriping the roadway; updating signage; and landscaping enhancements.

SR 90/SW 8 St from Florida's Turnpike to the Palmetto Expressway

 

Closing permanently the westbound traffic separator opening at 8250 SW 8 St.; adding a U-turn signal at SW 82 Ave.; adding a "turbo lane" at the intersection of SW 8 St. at the SW 102 Ave. by eliminating the left-turn movement from SW 99 Pl. onto SW 8 St.; upgrading pedestrian curb ramps, sidewalks and driveways throughout the project corridor; upgrading the traffic signals or components at the intersections of: SW 82 Ave., SW 87 Ave., SW 92 Ave., SW 94 Ave., SW 97 Ave., SW 102 Ave., SW 107 Ave., SW 109 Ave., SW 112 Ave., and SW 117 Ave.; adding bicycle lanes in both directions of SW 8 St. between SW 112 Ave. and SW 79 Ave.; constructing dual left-turn lanes for the eastbound-to- northbound movement at SW 92 Ave.; modifying left-turn lanes for the westbound-to-southbound movement at SW 99 Pl. and SW 102 Ave.; the median entrance to the shopping center at 10520 SW 8 St. will be reconstructed to lengthen the turn lanes from westbound SW 8 St. onto southbound SW 107 Ave.; modifying the left-turn lane for the eastbound-to-northbound movement at SW 109 Ave.

This project includes replacing sections of sidewalk, curb and gutter, and pedestrian ramps; installing new countdown pedestrian signals at intersections; installing several underground drainage structures; updating signalization, including replacing a traffic signal on Brickell Avenue and SE 8 Street; extending the left turn lanes along Brickell Avenue at SE 7 Street and SE 5 Street; closing the median opening at Brickell Avenue and SE 6 Street; repaving and restriping the roadway; replacing several existing crosswalks with a decorative crosswalk and completing the missing crossing at SE 8 Street and SE 7 Street; installing a new signalized crosswalk on the north side of the 1100 block of Brickell Avenue; upgrading damaged signs; and providing landscaping enhancements along the median.

SR 836/I-395 Roadway Project: From NE 1 Avenue to Biscayne Bay

 

This project includes widening the roadway and bridges in order to provide three eastbound and three westbound travel lanes; installing barrier wall along the median and outside of the roadway; building a retaining wall system; installing several drainage structures to improve storm water runoff; installing new lighting along the roadway; replacing an overhead sin structure along westbound I-395 near Biscayne Bay; repaving and restriping the westbound I-395 entrance ramp to the MacArthur Causeway; improving the riding surface of the roadway; updating signage and pavement markings; and relocating and removing several trees.

SR 907/Alton Road Roadway Project: From 5 Street to Michigan Avenue

 

This project includes installing three pump stations (at 5 Street, 10 Street and 14 Street) and a new drainage system to improve storm water drainage in area; rebuilding roadway, driveways, sidewalk and pedestrian ramps; constructing sidewalk extensions, which will remove about 90 on-street parking spaces; constructing concrete islands in the median to manage left turn movements at 9 Street, 13 Street, 14 Street, 14 Court and 15 Terrace and along Alton Road from 16 Street to Lincoln Road; modifying the median opening at Alton Road and 6 Street to prevent motorists travelling east on 6 Street to turn north on Alton Road; upgrading the traffic barrier on Alton Road flyover and Dade Boulevard Canal; replacing traffic and pedestrian signals at intersections; and installing new street lighting, landscaping, irrigation, signage and pavement markings.

SR A1A/Collins Avenue Roadway Project: From 5 Street to Lincoln Road

 

This project includes improving the drainage system throughout the corridor; rebuilding sidewalk and pedestrian ramps; constructing sidewalk extensions, which will remove about 70 parking spaces; installing a new traffic signal on Collins Avenue at 12 Street; providing new left turn lanes at intersections from 5 Street to 15 Street and lengthening the southbound left turn lane at 5 Street; installing audible pedestrian signals at Collins Avenue and 7 Street and 10 Street; installing new electronic signs at 16 Street and Lincoln Road advising motorists to stop when cars are turning left; installing new street lighting; installing new landscaping within sidewalk extensions; installing new signage and pavement markings, including shared lane markings advising motorists of cyclists; and repaving and restriping the roadway between 5 Street and 16 Street
