I-95 from the Golden Glades Interchange in Miami-Dade County to Broward Boulevard in Broward County
  • This project will extend the High Occupancy Toll Express lanes from northern Miami-Dade County north 13 miles to Fort Lauderdale. The project includes installing Intelligent Transportation System components; modifying the Ives Dairy Road interchange; bridge widening at specific locations and installing new noise barrier walls at locations between Hollywood Boulevard and Taft Street.
  • Work begins Wednesday, Feb. 1, on the Ives Dairy Road/I-95 interchange. One lane will be closed in each direction on Ives Dairy Road between NE 16 Avenue and Highland Lakes Boulevard overnight Wednesday, Feb. 1, and Thursday, Feb. 2 and again Sunday, Feb. 5, through Thursday, Feb. 9, between 9 p.m. and 5:30 a.m. each night. Workers will place barrier wall and begin widening the median on Ives Dairy Road in this area.

Eller Drive east of I-595/US 1 interchange at Port Everglades
  • A new overpass is being built over Eller Drive and the Port Everglades Railroad. The project includes reconstruction of several ramps in the I-595/US 1/Eller Drive interchange, reconstruction of the Eller Drive intersections at NE 7th Avenue, NE 14th Avenue and McIntosh Road, installation of new railroad tracks and crossing signals, drainage retention ponds, moving utilities out of the construction path, concrete pavement roadway construction, highway lighting system, landscaping and irrigation.
  • Intermittent lanes may be closed within the project limits Monday through Friday between 7 a.m. and 5 a.m.
  • One westbound lane will be closed on Eller Drive at 7 Avenue Monday, Jan. 30, through Friday, Feb. 3, between 7 a.m. and 5 p.m. for water main work.
  • One southbound lane will be closed on 14 Avenue at Eller Drive Monday, Jan. 30, through Friday, Feb. 3, between 7 a.m. and 5 p.m. for utility work.

Dixie Highway Flyover at the Broward/Palm Beach County line
  • Dixie Highway is under construction from Hillsboro Boulevard in Deerfield Beach over the FEC railroad tracks and the Hillsboro Canal to S.W. 18th Street in Boca Raton. A four-lane overpass (flyover) will be built with bicycle lanes and sidewalks on both sides above the railroad tracks, canal, N.E. Second Street, N. River Avenue and N.E. Second Avenue. A pedestrian bridge will be built over the canal east of the overpass. Drainage and landscaping will be added.

State Road 820 (Hollywood Boulevard) from State Road 7/US 441 to 44th Avenue in Hollywood
  • Major drainage and roadway improvements being made include: Removing the old asphalt and repaving Hollywood Boulevard throughout the project limits, installation of a new drainage system, shoulder widening for bike lanes in each direction, adding a raised median with curb, new decorative highway lighting system, sidewalk improvements and adding ADA ramps at intersections and driveways, adding pedestrian countdown times at crosswalks, adding new video detection at traffic signals, planting landscaping in the new median and along both sides of the road.
  • Two westbound lanes will be closed from 56 Avenue to 52 Avenue with additional intermittent closures from 56 Avenue to 52 Avenue, weekdays between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. through January 31.
  • Two eastbound lanes will be closed from 52 Avenue to 44 Avenue weekdays between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. February 1 through February 29.

US-1 from Young Circle to Sheridan Street in Hollywood
  • This project includes installation of new highway lighting, installing raised medians, landscaping in the median and additional signs through the project corridor.
  • One lane will be closed in each direction weekdays between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. each day.
  • Project start date:
  • Project estimated completion: Spring 2012
State Road 823 (Flamingo Road) from Pines Boulevard to Griffin Road in the Cooper City-Southwest Ranches-Pembroke Pines area
  • The existing pavement will be removed and replaced with new asphalt; sidewalks will be added on the west side of Flamingo. Landscaping and irrigation will be added to the medians, traffic signals and signs will be upgraded.
  • One lane will be closed intermittently northbound and southbound overnight Sunday night, Jan. 8 through Thusday night, Jan. 13 between 7:30 a.m. and 5:30 p.m.

I-75 from the Miami-Dade/Broward County line to the Miramar Parkway Interchange in Miramar
  • Improvements in this project include new auxiliary lanes on I-75 between the entrance/exit ramps at Miramar Parkway and the Homestead Extension of Florida Turnpike Interchanges, dual left-turn lanes and widening of eastbound Miramar Parkway to northbound I-75 entrance ramp, reconstruction and installation of traffic signals at the northbound I-75 exit ramp to eastbound Miramar Parkway, reconstruction and installation of traffic signals at the southbound I-75 exit ramp to westbound Miramar Parkway, repaving Miramar Parkway between SW 148th Ave and Dykes Road, addition of designated bike lanes and construction of sidewalks on both sides of Miramar Parkway between SW 148th Ave and Dykes Road, and construction of noise walls along both sided of I-75 in the project limits.
  • One westbound lane on Miramar Parkway will be closed overnight Sunday night, Jan. 29, through Thursday night, Feb. 2, between 9 p.m. and 6 a.m.

State Road 834 (Sample Road) from NW 54th Avenue to Tradewinds Park Road west of Florida’s Turnpike in Coconut Creek
  • Improvements included in this project are removing old asphalt and repaving the highway, widening pavement shoulders, adding bike lanes, modifying sidewalk ramps, left turn lane improvements at NW 54the Avenue, installing mast arm traffic signals and improvement bus stops.
  • One lane will be closed intermittently in each direction Saturday, Jan. 28, through Friday, Feb. 3, between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. daily.
  • Two westbound lanes will be closed overnight Monday, Jan. 30, through Friday, Feb. 3, between 9 p.m. and 6 a.m.
  • Project start date:
  • Project estimated completion: Early 2012
State Road 7 (US 441) from Sample Road to Holmberg Road
  • Improvements included in this project are removing old asphalt and repaving the highway, drainage modifications, installing guardrail, upgrading traffic signals, installing new road signs and landscaping.
  • One lane will be closed intermittently in each direction weekdays between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. daily.
  • Project start date:
  • Project estimated completion: Late Summer 2012
State Road 814 (Atlantic Boulevard) from State Road 7/US 441 to Powerline Road in Margate-Coconut Creek- Pompano Beach area
  • Improvements being made in this project include removing old asphalt, repaving the existing road, upgrading curb ramps at intersections and driveways, replacing pedestrian signals, installing video detection for traffic signals, bus shelters and overhead sign structure.
  • One eastbound lane will be closed periodically weekdays between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. through December 23.

US 1 from SE 17th Street to Broward Boulevard & Henry E. Kinney Tunnel in Fort Lauderdale
  • Improvements included in this project consist of rehabilitating a portion of the Henry Kinney Tunnel on US 1, the bridge south of that, milling and resurfacing along US1 South of Broward Blvd to 17th Street, also curb and landscaping.
  • Northbound SE 6 Avenue will be closed between SE 2 Street and SE 1 Street, just north of the Henry E. Kinney Tunnel. SE 6 Avenue traffic destined for northbound US 1 will be detoured east on SE 2 Street, north on SE 8 Avenue and west on Broward Boulevard.

State Road 820 (Pines Boulevard) from Douglas Road to 64th Way
  • The improvements under this contract consist of removing the old asphalt and repaving the existing road, shoulder widening and installing sidewalks.
  • One lane will be closed in each direction overnight Sunday night through Thursday night, between 9 p.m. and 5 a.m.
  • Project start date:
  • Project estimated completion: Summer 2012
State Road 820 (Hollywood Boulevard) from 16th Avenue to the Intracoastal Waterway in Hollywood
  • Drainage improvements are being made at several intersections.
  • Westbound Hollywood Boulevard will be closed between 14 and 15 Avenues Monday, Jan. 30, through Thursday, Feb. 2, between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. each day. Traffic will be detoured north to Tyler Street.
  • One westbound lane on Hollywood Boulevard between 14 and 15 Avenues will be closed overnight Monday, Jan. 30, through Thursday, Feb. 2, between 3 p.m. and 9 a.m.
  • The northbound lanes from 9th, 10th, 12th, 13th and 16th Avenues onto Hollywood Boulevard will be closed weekdays between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. through January 31.
  • The southbound lanes from 12, 13, 14 and 16 Avenues onto Hollywood Boulevard will also be closed weekdays between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. through January 31.
  • Project start date:

State Road 814 (Atlantic Boulevard) from SE/NE 20th Avenue to A1A in Pompano Beach
  • Improvements being made in this project include removing old asphalt, repaving the existing road and median work.
  • One lane is closed in each direction at all times, on-street parking is being removed and dedicated right turn lanes converted to through/right turn lanes from 20th Avenue to the Intracoastal Waterway Bridge. Two travel lanes will be maintained in both directions.

US 27/SR 25 from Pines Boulevard to Griffin Road in southwest Broward County
  • Work is underway to install electronic variable speed limit signs, closed circuit monitoring cameras and a wireless communication system.

State Road 822 (Sheridan Street) at the SE 5th Avenue Intersection
  • Improvements included in this project consist of installing a new drainage system.

Hillsboro Boulevard Bridge over the Intracoastal Waterway in Deerfield Beach
  • This bridge renovation project includes high pressure water cleaning, sandblasting and painting the structural steel on the bridge, including the deck that vehicles drive over.
  • N.E. 18 Avenue is closed under the bridge on the east side of the waterway until late January.  One lane will be closed in each direction Saturday, Jan. 7, through Saturday Jan. 4 between 9 a.m.
  • One lane will be closed in each direction Monday, Jan. 30, through Friday, Feb. 3, between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. and from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m.

State Road 849 (NW 31 Avenue) from Atlantic Boulevard to Coconut Creek Parkway/Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard in Margate
  • Old asphalt will be removed and the existing lanes will be repaved, shoulders will be widened and drainage will be improved.
  • One southbound lane may be closed weekdays between 9 a.m. and 3:30 p.m.

17th Street Causeway Bridge over the Intracoastal Waterway in Fort Lauderdale
  • Repairs will be made to the underside of the bridge deck.
  • One eastbound lane will be closed on Monday, Jan. 9, between 9 a.m. and 11:30 a.m.

  • One lane will be closed in either direction weekdays between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. until early April..
  • Improvements in this project include removing old asphalt and repaving the existing lanes, minor sidewalk widening on the west side of US 1, upgrading video detection equipment on existing traffic signals, installing ADA sidewalk ramps at intersections, installing new bus stop pads, installing new signs and pavement markings.
  • Project start date:
  • Project estimated completion: Expected in April.
State Road 7/Riverland Road Intersection north of I-595 in Fort Lauderdale
  • All lanes are open through Friday, Feb. 3.
  • Safety improvements being made at this intersection include extending left turn lanes, pedestrian signal upgrades, installing video detection equipment on existing traffic signals and sidewalk repairs.
  • Project start date:
