State Road 79 - Holmes Creek Bridge Replacement
A new two-lane southbound bridge will be built just west of the existing bridge and will be designed to carry two, twelve-foot lanes of traffic with ten-foot outside and six-foot inside shoulders and a five-foot sidewalk separated from traffic with a traffic concrete barrier. A similar northbound bridge will be constructed in the same location of the old bridge, once it is removed. There will be turn lanes constructed at C.R. 279 and S.R. 79 on the north end and at S.R. 277 and S.R. 79 on the south end at the flashing beacon in Vernon. The Holmes Creek Canoe Trail will be maintained and open to recreational users at all times during the construction of this project.
