Intelligent Transportation System (ITS) in Lee County

- This project is widening the interstate to six lanes and making improvements at the SR 80 interchange. This project also includes extending northbound and southbound interstate bridges over SR 80 to the north; widening interstate bridges at Luckett Road, and adding two northbound and southbound outside lanes (“transition lanes”) between ramps at the Luckett Road and SR 80 interchanges. Work also includes widening the northbound off-ramp and southbound on-ramp at the SR 80 interchange, building six travel lanes from Lexington Avenue to Orange River Boulevard, add additional turn lanes to and from interstate ramps, and construct a 10-foot shared use path eastbound and westbound along the roadway at the interchange for bicyclists and pedestrians.
