US 17: From the Charlotte/DeSoto County Line to SW Collins Street
This project widens this four-mile segment of U.S. 17 from two to four lanes. Existing lanes will be resurfaced and, in some areas, reconstructed. At project completion, the new lanes and bridge will carry northbound traffic and existing lanes will carry southbound traffic. Northbound and southbound lanes will be separated by a grassy median. This job also includes installation of new storm drains and storm water retention ponds.
