I-75 @ Recreational Area (east of Firewater Canal)
  • The improvements under this contract consist of constructing a recreational access facility, including a boat ramp and parking lot with fencing and lighting, and roadway widening, milling and resurfacing, drainage improvements, signing and pavement marking, intelligent transportation system components and a high-tension cable barrier system on I-75.
  • Project start date: November 2011
  • Project estimated completion: Spring 2012
  • The contractor is Convalvias USA
  • Project cost: $4.7 million
SR 29: From west of 9th Street to north of CR 29A in Immokalee
  • This project will resurface the roadway. Work also includes paving turn-outs, completing drainage improvements, placing sod, curb and gutter. Other work includes sidewalk, shoulder widening, roadway signs, and pavement marking.
  • Project start: August 2011
  • Project estimated completion: Early 2012
  • The contractor is C.W. Roberts Contracting, Inc.
  • Project cost: $1.4 million
