  1. Synthesis of State DOT and MPO Planning and Analysis Strategies to Reduce Greenhouse Gas Emissions - This report describes the current state-of-practice in analyzing strategies aimed at reducing transportation-related greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions. The focus of the research was on state department of transportation (DOT) and metropolitan planning organization (MPO) analysis efforts, the types of analysis tools used, the range of GHG reduction strategies considered, and the challenges faced by those undertaking the analyses.
  2. Mitigating Highway Construction Impacts Through the Use of Transit - This paper looks at what can be done to entice people to choose transit when there is a major construction project causing disruption in their daily routes.
  3. Northeast Corridor Now: Legislative Proposal & Infrastructure Program - This NEC Now legislative proposal charts a path forward for the Northeast Corridor. It proposes a new institutional and financing framework that would initiate and facilitate a comprehensive, corridor-wide overhaul. It calls for the creation of a new federal grant program, changes to the Railroad Rehabilitation & Improvement Financing (RRIF) program, and new governance structures for project selection, management and finance.
  4. Americans’ Support for Public Transportation - This survey provides evidence that there is growing support for an already strong majority of people in favor of expanding public transportation through the use of tax dollars in their community.
  5. FAA Oversight of Procedures and Technologies to Prevent and Mitigate the Effects of Dense, Continuous Smoke in the Cockpit - This report is the result of a study of the effectiveness of the Federal Aviation Administration’s (FAA) oversight of the use of new technologies to prevent or mitigate the effects of dense, continuous smoke in the cockpit of commercial aircraft.
