Synthesis of Practices for Prioritizing Enhancement and Nonmotorized Transportation Projects - This report describes various prioritization models that are in use around the country with some analysis of the inputs needed and how useful they may be in weighting disparate benefits in other parts of the country. The report also includes information regarding specific measures used for non-motorized transportation projects, including measuring the return on investment for non-motorized transportation investments.
  3. Growing for a Sustainable Future: Miami-Dade County Urban Development Boundary Assessment - This report addresses many of the questions related to the effectiveness of the boundary expansion process and raises others that could help the county improve its growth management strategies, specifically related to the establishment of goals that influence how and where investments are made. This report contains four case studies that describe different methods for addressing growth management and how those policies can inform the process in Miami-Dade County.
  4. Design Guidance for High-Speed to Low-Speed Transitions Zones for Rural Highways - This report presents guidance for designing the transition from a high-speed rural highway to a lower-speed section, typically approaching a small town. The report includes a methodology for assessing these highway sections and a catalog of potential treatments for addressing problems.
  5. Toward More Comprehensive and Multi-modal Transport Evaluation - This report evaluates conventional transport policy and project evaluation practices, and describes ways to make them more comprehensive and multi-modal.
