  1. Evaluation of Driver Behavior to Hydroplaning in the State of Florida Using Driving Simulation - This project, through a driving simulator, investigates patterns of driver behavior during various rainfall events using different roadway geometries.
  2. Motor Vehicle Crashes, Injuries, and Deaths in Relation to Driver Age: United States, 1995 – 2010 - This study examines changes over time in the numbers and rates of police-reported crashes involving passenger vehicles and the numbers and rates of injuries and deaths that occurred in those crashes.
  3. Strategies for Defining the Core Federal Role in Surface Transportation - This report summarizes a workshop discussion on a few topics:
    • The Current Debate over Defining the Federal Role in Transportation and Applying Performance Measures Is Not New;
    • Americans Do Not Pay the Full Cost of Transportation;
    • Current Federal Policy Is Broken; and
    • The Core Federal System Should Be Re-Sized.
  4. Highway Safety: Selected Cases of Commercial Drivers with Potentially Disqualifying Impairments - This report describes (1) key controls designed to prevent medically unfit or impaired commercial drivers from operating commercial vehicles and (2) examples of commercial drivers with potentially disqualifying impairments related to epilepsy, drugs, or alcohol.

    • Improvements in safe working on roads - This guide focuses on safety of both workers and road users in construction zones. It addresses:
      • The roles and responsibilities in the work zones;
      • Planning and design of work zones;
      • Safe and efficient operations of work zones;
      • Personnel guidance in work zones;
      • Typical work zones layout;
      • Checklists for work zones safety.
    • Best practices for road safety campaigns - The report presents key findings of a literature review of best practices for road safety campaigns, and relate these to actual road safety campaign practices by road administrations and authorities of fourteen countries who responded to a survey questionnaire.
