1. Impact of Baby Boomers on U.S. Travel, 1969 to 2009 - This report summarizes the travel behavior of the Baby Boomer Generation by analyzing the results from the National Household Travel Surveys and provides policy recommendations to address baby boomer travel needs as they reach retirement.
2. Interactions Between Transportation Capacity, Economic Systems, and Land Use - This report analyzes case studies that document the long-term, before and after economic impacts of a variety of highway capacity investments, mainly from around the United States. This project focuses on long-term impacts on performance metrics such as employment, income, real estate values, and tax revenues.

   • Flexible Funding Continues to Play a Role in Supporting State and Local Transportation Priorities - This report examines the extent to which states have transferred flexible funding between highway and transit programs since 2007 and the factors that affected the decisions of selected states and urbanized areas to transfer flexible funding and the outcomes of those decisions.
   • Highway Safety: Federal and State Efforts Related to Accidents That Involve Non-Commercial Vehicles Carrying Unsecured Loads - This report examines NHTSA’s data collection efforts as well as states’ laws related to unsecured loads.
   • Motorcycle Safety: Increasing Federal Funding Flexibility and Identifying Research Priorities Would Help Support States' Safety Efforts - This report reviews (1) what is known about the cost of motorcycle crashes; (2) the factors that contribute to motorcycle crashes and fatalities, and strategies states are pursuing to address these factors; and (3) the extent to which NHTSA assists states in pursuing strategies that address these factors.
   • ADA Paratransit Services: Demand Has Increased, but Little is Known about Compliance - This report examines (1) the extent of compliance with ADA paratransit requirements, (2) changes in ADA paratransit demand and costs since 2007, and (3) actions transit agencies are taking to help address changes in the demand for and costs of ADA paratransit service.
   • Public Transit: Funding for New Starts and Small Starts Projects - This report discusses the extent to which project sponsors use non-New Starts funding to help construct New Starts, Small Starts and Very Small Starts projects.
