  1. State of Good Repair: Prioritizing the Rehabilitation & Replacement of Existing Capital Assets & Evaluating the Implication (Login Required) - This report presents a framework for transit agencies to use for prioritizing capital asset rehabilitation and replacement decisions.
  2. Transit on the Cutting Edge of Clean Technology - This white paper reviews the substantial progress that transit agencies have made in investing in innovative clean technologies and fuels, such as electricity, hybrid vehicles, electric storage, biofuels, natural gas, and hydrogen fuel cells.
  3. Best practices of good governance - Institutional integrity (Sign-in required)- This report provides key definitions and an analysis of literature pertaining to corruption and institutional integrity for the roads sector; examples of current policies and practices from an international survey; a model of cycle of integrity to counter-act the cycle of corruption together with a set of measures to prevent, detect and punish corrupt behavior and enforce decisions within an organization; and recommendations for future works.
  4. Demand for Public Transport in Germany and the USA: An Analysis of Rider Characteristics - This paper provides a brief review of trends in public transport demand from 1980 to 2010 in 16 countries in Europe, North America, and Australia, followed by a detailed analysis of public transport demand in Germany and the USA.
  5. Local Funding Options for Public Transportation - This paper summarizes results of a study that evaluated potential local funding options for financing public transit improvements. It evaluates seventeen options according to eight criteria.

    • Safe Routes to Play? Pedestrian and Bicyclist Crashes Near Parks in the Los Angeles Region - This study's objectives are (1) to determine if pedestrian and bicycle crashes occur at higher rates in park-adjacent neighborhoods compared to the rest of the study area; (2) to identify if demographic characteristics predict active crash risk after controlling for population and the rate of active trips; and (3) to assess if there is an amplified effect of park proximity for active crash risk in low-income and minority neighborhoods after controlling for population and the rate of active trips.
    • Effects of Federal Tax Credits for the Purchase of Electric Vehicles - This report examines the impacts of federal tax credits on the electric vehicle purchase, provides cost estimates of the program, and analyzes the short term and long term costs and benefits.
    • The State of the Residential Construction Industry - This paper reviews the residential construction industry’s distant and recent past, surveys current trends, and sketches out potential fundamental shifts in future housing demand and supply as they affect the residential construction industry.
