- What do Americans Think About Federal Tax Options to Support Public Transit, Highways, and Local Streets and Roads? - Results from Year 3 of a National Survey - This report summarizes the results of a national random-digit-dial public opinion poll on various tax options for raising federal transportation revenues, with a special focus on understanding support for increasing revenues for public transit. The survey results show that a majority of Americans, under certain conditions, would support higher taxes for transportation.
- Getting Infrastructure Going: Expediting the Environmental Review Process - This report focuses on common federal and state agency implementation practices of the National Environmental Policy Act that lead to delays. It offers several recommendations to federal and state agencies, environmental practitioners, and process reformers to curb the delays.
- Air Quality Community of Practice: Establishing and Coordinating Motor Vehicle Emissions Budgets - This research summarizes EPA and FHWA/FTA requirements and guidance documents for establishing MVEBs; how the various State DOTs, MPOs, and State Air Quality agencies coordinate and work together to develop, modify, and implement the budgets; State practices for changing the MVEBs in response to changes to air quality standards and/or emissions models; technical details such as which models were used to generate traffic and emissions data; and research needs.
- Federal Efforts to Reduce the Cost of Capturing and Storing Carbon Dioxide - This study examines current federal policies that support the development, demonstration, and deployment of CCS technology and the policies’ potential to reduce the future costs of generating electricity with power plants that capture and store carbon.
