  1. FY 2013 President’s Budget: Department of Transportation Overall Summary - Proposing $74 billion for USDOT for FY 2013, this budget request centers on a six-year $476 billion surface transportation reauthorization proposal to ensure economic growth and competitiveness by investing in our national infrastructure network, building on recent safety achievements, and modernizing our transportation systems through research and innovation.
  2. Fiscal Constraint in Long-Range Transportation Planning - This report presents and synthesizes the findings from eight case studies that examine best practices in financial planning applied in the long-range transportation planning process conducted for metropolitan area and statewide transportation systems.
  3. Diesel Pollution: Fragmented Federal Programs That Reduce Mobile Source Emissions Could Be Improved - In response to a mandate in the Diesel Emissions Reduction Act of 2010, GAO examined the extent of duplication, overlap, fragmentation, or gaps, if any, among federal grant, rebate, and loan programs that address mobile source diesel emissions; effectiveness of federal funding for activities that reduce mobile source diesel emissions; and the extent of collaboration among agencies that fund these activities.
