The Changing Tide of U.S.-International Container Trade: Differences Among the U.S. Atlantic, Gulf,
and Pacific Coasts - This BTS special report examines historical U.S. maritime trends, changes in U.S.
trading partners, and current U.S. marine trade patterns. More specifically, it compares container vessel
calls, container vessel capacity, and the average deadweight tonnage of vessels calling at U.S. Pacific Coast
seaports and, increasingly, along the U.S. Atlantic and Gulf Coasts.
