RCI Features and Characteristics Handbook

The RCI Features and Characteristics Handbook describes the portion of the Florida Department of Transportation's Roadway Characteristics Inventory system maintained by the Transportation Statistics Office (TranStat). The RCI elements that serve to define the roadway include components referred to as Features and Characteristics.

The RCI Features and Characteristics Handbook is provided in two parts that complement each other: the RCI Office Handbook and the RCI Field Handbook. The RCI Features and Characteristics Handbook also contains a list of most current revisions: RCI Office Handbook Log of Changes and the RCI Field Handbook Log of Changes.

The TranStat Office is generally responsible for the methodology involving collection, processing, and storage of the various RCI elements, including their quality, but other offices in each District share the responsibility for data collection and data entry.
