The SIS
Interactive Map and Database is an interactive Web site tool originally designed to complement the 2007
SIS Data and Designation Update process. It is now used as a temporary data
interface for SIS designation purposes. Development is underway on a new FDOT
interface to support both SIS designation and the identification,
prioritization, selection and funding of projects identified to support the
goals of the SIS.
For now, the primary function of the temporary data interface is to give users
direct access to activity, geographical data, and the rationale for designation
of all SIS corridors, hubs, and connectors, as well as other key facilities that
do not meet SIS thresholds. The tool also provides a means for users to readily
review these data through an interactive map-based selection process.
A secondary function is to facilitate Community and Environment review as part
of designation. The tool has layers identified by a prefix - ‘CM' for community
layers and ‘ENV' for environmental layers. The user can turn the layers on and
off in the “Table of Contents” to see the community and environmental spatial
features that may impact facilities.
