About
The FDOT, in cooperation with its partners, has completed the 2007 Systemwide
SIS Data and Designation Update of all transportation and economic activity data
associated with the adopted SIS and Emerging SIS criteria and thresholds. The
primary purposes of this update were to:
- Obtain updated data for adopted designation criteria;
- Update activity-level thresholds based on national activity levels that
have changed;
- Consider suggestions on the need for minor clarifications and changes to
designation implementation language;
- Continue to investigate suggestions for adding new criteria and changing
adopted criteria; and
- Update the SIS Interactive Map and Database so that it
reflects the latest SIS data and designations.
A final report, called the "2007
SIS Data and Designation Update Report" documents:
- The data review, including changes in data sources and mapping;
- The treatment of all designation changes requested since adoption of the
initial SIS Strategic Plan in January 2005; and
- An initial set of policy issues that should be considered as part of the
next comprehensive update of the SIS plan.
All designation and other decisions documented in this report have been adopted
by the FDOT as of July 20, 2008. A table of contact names for FDOT Offices is
listed at the end of the Executive Summary.
