SIS Phase 2B - Strategic Plan Development (June 2004 - December 2004)

As mandated in Florida Statutes 339.64, the SIS Strategic Plan will lay the foundation for the future growth and development of the SIS statewide network of transportation hub, corridors and connectors. An initial Draft SIS Strategic Plan was developed and distributed for public and partner review and comment on Oct. 15, 2004.

Development of an initial SIS Strategic Plan began in May 2004 as Phase 2B of System Development. A progress report (April 2004) summarizing activities and consensus recommendations for system designation, as well as initial recommendations for development of the initial SIS Strategic Plan was submitted to Governor Bush, the Florida Senate President, and the Speaker of the Florida House of Representatives on May 13, 2004 (transmittal letter).

The majority of the technical work and development of components for the initial SIS plan was completed by the Phase 2B subcommittees. The Multimodal Team reviewed the subcommittees' work products and adopted final recommendations for contents of the initial SIS plan.
