Enterprise Strategic Intermodal System (eSIS)

Picture of a Florida Roadway

Florida Statutes, Sections 339.63 (3) & (4), authorize the Department to add or delete facilities from the SIS based upon adopted criteria. This is accomplished using an interactive database and mapping system (the "eSIS") designed to put various facility information related to the SIS at your fingertips. In the future, the plan is to link this system to other systems that provide facility, project and growth management information. Although each component of eSIS is linked to other components, they are listed here based on their primary purpose and available information.

General Information

  • eSIS Overview - The latest general description of the eSIS, including available functions and planned enhancements.
  • FDOT SIS Contacts as of June 2013
  • SIS Criteria and Thresholds - Current adopted criteria, thresholds and measures of transportation and economic activity used to designate hubs, corridors and connectors to be part of the SIS.
  • eSIS Glossary - Definitions of words, phrases and acronyms used in eSIS.
  • eSIS Legend: Facilities - Compact picture of just the facilities part of the eSIS legend, which can be saved and then inserted into a map file you create using screen capture and editing software.

Current Facilities and Data

  • SIS I-MAP - A web-based interactive map providing access to a central storehouse of current SIS data. Currently I-Map has no map output capabilities, other than screen captures; however, GIS map layers for use with desktop GIS publishing software are available upon request (see contact information at the bottom of this page).
  • SIS Plans and Projects - Provides access to a document set known as the "SIS Funding Strategy".
  • Facility Search - Provides access to current and historical information for designated facilities, statewide or by various geographic areas, at various points in time. Many non-designated facilities are also included.
