Office of Policy Planning
Learn about the composition of the Strategic Intermodal System, why it was established and why it is important.
The SIS Policy Plan sets policies to guide decisions about which facilities are designated as part of the SIS, where future SIS investments should occur, and how to set priorities among these investments given limited funding. The plan was adopted March 2016. Please visit the website at http://floridatransportationplan.com/. This site is an excellent resource for information on Florida Transportation Plan (FTP) and SIS Policy Plan implementation activities.
The current SIS facilities and changes to designated facilities will be updated.
The major responsibility of Systems Planning is to implement the Strategic Intermodal System (SIS) through the development of the SIS Needs, Cost Feasible and Ten Year Project Plans and Work Program; provide policies, procedures, tools, training and technical assistance.
Partner and public input in the ongoing planning and designation of Florida's Strategic Intermodal System is welcomed and encouraged.
