Federal Economic Stimulus - TIGER Grant Application

Pinellas Bayway Bridge Structure "C"

The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) in coordination with Pinellas County and the Cities of St. Pete Beach and St. Petersburg submitted an application for Transportation Investment Generating Economic Recovery (TIGER) Grant funding under the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009.

The proposal, the Pinellas Bayway Bridge Structure "C" project, will generate significant economic growth for the retail, accomodation and food service industries in this largely tourist area while replacing an aging bridge in need of repair. Investing TIGER Grant funds with available state funds will complete the financing required to replace this aging bridge that is in need of repair. Completion of the new bridge is anticipated to generate $341.6 million in economic benefits over a 25 year period.
