The American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 (ARRA) provides funding for transportation projects in Florida. The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) is working in cooperation with federal and local agencies, contractors, consultants and others to deliver projects as quickly as possible.
Transit - 172 projects totaling $316 million are being implemented.
Airports - 22 projects totaling $55.5 million are being implemented - as of 2/22/10.
TIGER I Discretionary Grant Applications - The U.S. Department of Transportation announced 61 grants for funding from the ARRA Transportation Investment Generating Economic Recovery (TIGER) program on February 17, 2010. None of these grants were for Florida projects. FDOT Applications submitted for the program were:
TIGER II Discretionary Grants - The federal fiscal year 2010 Appropriations Act provided $600 million for National Infrastructure Investments which are being referred to as "TIGER II Discretionary Grants". More information about these grants is available.
