The FDOT Office of Comptroller consists of four offices:
We are responsible for the development, maintenance, and modification of an accounting system which must accurately reflect the revenues and expenditures of FDOT, in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). Our responsibilities include:
A cost accounting system to properly identify, segregate, allocate, and report department costs.
The preparation of detailed cash and expenditures forecasts.
The certification that funds are available prior to entering into any contract or binding agreement.
Determination and management of cash and cash requirements.
The protection of FDOT's assets, investments and liabilities.
The office also provides Finance Analysis and Solutions for the Department's Major Projects.
