3.2 - Create the Plan or Dual Plan Sheets (PLANRD##.DWG)
Task Description:
This section is the second phase of plans production in Civil 3D. The first phase was the creation of the View Frames, this section combines the View Frames with the data that is to be published.

It is important to note that this phase creates two pieces of information that is vital to plans production in FDOT - the PLANRD##.DWG and the DST file that tracks the sheets. The DST file is created transparently and the user will not know that it is there. The DST file is basically the table of contents for the sheets. If the sheets must be renamed use the FDOT Sheet Set Organizer tool. It is important for users to use the Create Sheets wizard to create their sheets and sheet sets.

This particular workflow is typically applied right after the creation of the View Frame Groups. Please see the topic Creating the View Frames for Plan and Dual Plan Sheets (CLIPRD##.DWG).
Required Files:
  • ALGNRD##.DWG - contains the alignment that the view frames will be located on.
  • CLIPRD##.DWG - contains the dual plan view frame group.
  • Any additional files that need to be published with the sheets.
Procedure:
There are two paths here -
1)Create a new CLIPRD##.DWG and then reference in the data into the new DWG or
2)Reference the data into the CLIPRD##.DWG that contains the View Frames.
Depending on the path you want to take do the following:
  • Path 1 - start on step 3.2.1 below.
  • Path 2 - continue with the drawing with the View Frame Groups and start on step 3.2.7.
