The FDOT State Kit comes with a library of typical cross section assemblies and subassemblies. Here you need to select the Existing Features subassembly on the FDOT Miscellaneous tab from the Tool Palette.
Go to the Ribbon Home tab > Palettes panel > Tool Palettes button
From the Tool Palettes dialog select the FDOT Miscellaneous tab.
Click on FDOT Existing Features Subassembly.
When the Properties dialog displays, under the Design tab, you can adjust the parameters of the Existing Features subassembly.
Specify the maximum distance the corridor will check on the right and left side. This can be done by typing in the distance or by selecting a line or polyline to limit the search distance by assigning the line(s) to the layer SearchLimits.
Change the search distance settings for paired existing feature lines; change the thickness of the existing feature material; add search layers; or change searchable entity types as needed.
Once the parameters are correct select the assembly baseline marker or another subassembly marker to insert the subassembly.
