1.0 - Existing Features - Corridors
Process Description:
A corridor model uses various AutoCAD Civil 3D objects and data, including subassemblies, assemblies, alignments, surfaces, and profiles. The corridor object is created from a baseline (alignment) by placing 2D sections (assemblies) at incremental locations.

If you have survey data of existing features represented by lines, arcs, polylines, or survey figures, you can show these items in your cross-sections by using the Existing Features subassembly in a corridor.

Some of these features when located in pairs, such as left and right edge of pavement or sidewalk, can have the material represented as a depth or thickness from the original ground surface.

If you do not have lines representing existing features, you need to either connect the points while collecting the data in the field using survey figures, or by snapping lines to the survey points in the drawing. Make sure the lines are on the appropriate search layers.
