Launch the Create Files Application which can be located in either the FDOT2012.C3D folder or on the FDOT Toolbar within Civil 3D.
Set the Project field to the current project that you are working on.
Set the Workspace to FDOT2012.C3D.
Select the Control File to load the appropriate FDOT file templates.
Select the ROADWAY_AUTODESK.CTL control file from the droplist.
Select the File Group to load a specific subset of the FDOT file templates. Then select a File Type from the list of templates.
NOTE: Upon selecting the File Group and File Type the Output File and Output Folder display the naming template and location where the new file will be created.
Create the new project file.
Click Create to add the new file type into the project. A message will display indicating the file was created successfully.
NOTE: The message displayed upon creating the new project file reconfirms the name and location of the file created.
NOTE: Upon closing the warning message, notice that the name in the Output File field in the dialog has changed to include a 02 suffix. This is automated to prevent duplicate file names from being created in the event additional files of this type are added to the project.
Open the new project file:
Click the Open File button to open the new project file. The active project file displayed in the lower left of the dialog will be opened and available for editing.
