1.1.1 - Create the Project Directory
Step Description:
Before beginning this process, be sure that Civil 3D is closed.

Start by opening the FDOT2012.C3D Folder.

Launch the Create Project for Civil 3D application.

Define the Container Folder for the project. This is the location of where your project will be located. In this example the location has been defined as C:\e\Projects.

In the Project Information Tab:
  • Enter in the FPI Number.
  • Enter in the Federal Aid Number, if applicable.
  • Select if the project will be done by a consultant or in house.
  • Enter in the General Description.
The Project Files and Folders Tab will give you a preview of what the project directory will be named and populated with.
Click OK, verify the information and click OK again.

The project directory is created in the location specified by the Container Folder definition. In this example the project is created in C:\e\Projects\FPID#.

After creating the project a box will appear saying the FDOT project was created successfully and ask whether the PEDDS Project ID application should be run now or later. See the next step for instructions.

During project creation it is important that the PEDDS Project ID application should be run.
