2.4.1 - Edit Points
Step Description:

Editing a single point

  • Begin by selecting the point you wish to edit.
  • By selecting a point you will be directed to the contextual ribbon Survey Point tab > select Survey Point Properties.

  • In the Survey Point Properties dialog you can edit the location of the point by changing its Description, Elevation, Easting, Northing, etc...

  • To change the point symbol you must enter the desired feature code in the Survey Point's Description.


To update an edited point
  • Select the point in the drawing space.
  • Right-click > Apply Description Keys.

NOTE: If the feature code is changed it is recommended that the Description and CgPoint.code, for LandXML, match.

If the description of the point is changed you will be prompted to update linework. In the Process Linework dialog select No.

Editing Multiple Points
To edit multiple points a network must be created. To create a network.
  • Open the Survey Toolspace.
  • Right-click Networks > New.

NOTE: The name of the network is irrelevant since the only reason the network is being created is to access its command window.
  • Input [network name] > OK.
  • Survey toolspace > Right-click [network name] > Survey Command Window.

  • In the Survey Command Window dialog, in the command location, you can enter the appropriate [command] to correct the survey points. In order for the [command] to take effect the point numbers must also be supplied in the command window.

NOTE: Point numbers can be found by selecting the individual points in the drawing space > right-click > select Properties. The Point Number is provided in the Properties dialog.

Example of editing multiple points:
In this situation there are some points with elevations that are assumed incorrect.
  • In the Survey toolspace > right-click networks > New.
  • In the New Network dialog input [network name] > Ok.

  • Once the network is created go to Survey Point Groups > select Lightposts and locate the points with incorrect elevation.

  • The value needed for the network command is the point number of each lightpost. The point number for the lightposts is not provided in the Point Groups list.
  • To obtain each point number right-click the point > select Zoom to.

  • Now, in the drawing space, select the point > right-click the point > select properties
  • In the Properties dialog the point number is provided

  • We need to temporarily take note of the point number, it will need to be retrieved for the network command

NOTE: Since the points being corrected are consecutive there is only a need to obtain the first and last point numbers.
  • Now go back to [network name] in the Survey toolspace > right-click [network name] > Survey Command Window.
  • The unique correction code for this set is [mod elevs by 536878902 536878905 -10]. This code correction will subtract 10 feet from each elevation in the range of 536878902-536878905.

  • By pressing enter the elevations are adjusted and the process is complete.
