In order to utilize the extended properties embedded in the LandXML file to create Civil 3D Point Groups you must transfer Survey Point Groups from the Survey Toolspace to the C3D Prospector. Utilizing the Civil 3D Point Groups provides more tools to analyze the data, than the survey database.
NOTE: If you would like to view all the points from the import event you would simply right-click Survey Point Groups > Insert into drawing. This will insert all points from the import event.

Filtering point groups in the C3D workspace.
One example of filtering and editing points in the C3D workspace is as follows:

NOTE: In this case point group 15502 was created with all points from the import data. Also if there is no point code description the point will not be displayed by default.

Point Group Properties Dialog Image.bmp)
NOTE: The property drop down list contains all the properties provided in the survey database along with the additional LandXML properties. In this example property "Point.CgPoint.DTMAttribute" contains the ground or feature value.
The Properties for _No Points may also have to be modified in order to get the correct display. To do this right click _No Points > Properties > Information tab > change Point style to none & change Point label style to none
This process will display the points in the C3D workspace that have a description and the ground attribute.
