2.1.4 - Create Survey Database

Step Description:

• In the Survey Toolspace
• Right-click Survey Databases > New local survey database.

• Assign the appropriate naming convention to the database.

After the survey database is created another folder will be created within the working folder determined in the previous step. The survey database folder will contain a log file, for any issues that may occur during import, and some additional files. Two key files contained in the survey database folder are the .sdbx & .SDXX files. The .sdbx and .SDXX files represent the survey database and can be backed up or transferred to a USB device to be used by others.

NOTE: When the survey database is in bold it means that it's open i.e., it is the active survey database in Civil 3D.
