1.2.2 - Create Project Directory Structure
Step Description:

Define the Project Settings for the new project.

  • Click the Project Settings button on the dialog.

  • Click the Create New Project button on the dialog.

  • Click the Browse button and navigate to the FDOT project template. The typical FDOT project template location can be found on the local workstation in C:\FDOTXXXX_autodesk \Civil 3D Project Template, where the XXXX represent the Civil 3D version for the client installation.


  • In the Create Project From Template field, type in the full path and folder name for the new project. (example: C:\e\projects\\b [FPID#]) NOTE: For the project folder name use the FPID#.


  • Reconfirm the project path, then Click Create. A message will display indicating the project was created successfully.

  • Validate the new project folder has been created using the Windows Explorer. Confirm that the new project folder is named using the correct Financial Project ID and that the underlying FDOT tier 1 folders have been created.


NOTE: Additional project/data folders can be created under the tier 1, project folders ONLY. Folder names must not exceed 16 characters/digits or use any special characters (example: %)
