7. Plans Production Workflow
Workflow Description:
This document was not meant to be a step-by-step tutorial though great care was taken to define as much detail as possible to eliminate any guesswork. This document was created to explain the procedures that one can take to emulate the FDOT processes as close as possible. There will be sections where multiple options are given and it is up to the user to decide what suits their needs the best.
The types of sheets that this document will cover at this time:
- Plan sheets
- Dual Plan Sheets
- Cross Section Sheets
- Profile sheets
Videos that walk through the creation of the above sheets:
Prepare Plotters Video (wmv)
Create Plan Sheets Manually Video (wmv)
Create Plan Sheets by Alignment Video (wmv)
Create Cross Section Sheets Video (wmv)
Create Profile Sheets Video (wmv)
NOTE:
Text height is fully controlled by the styles used and independent to the scale. As you examine the styles in your drawing, note how all text heights are in inches. Those heights indicate how it will be plotted regardless of scale. What this means is that scale changes can be made on the fly and the plots' text heights will still follow FDOT standards. Please remember that the text height only affects Civil 3D label objects. If you reference DGN text or use AutoCAD text those objects will be dependent on your scale.
Sheet Set Manager - The sheets within the Sheet Set Manager will be the main method for delivering your sheets to FDOT. The Sheet Set Manager is dependent on the DST file.
