This session will demonstrate importing survey data via LandXML (source: FDOT EFB data collector) into Civil 3D 2011 and some tips on the preparation of that data for use by design. We'll cover some of the important things to keep in mind working between the survey database and the active drawing such as how to selectively drawing, view and edit points and figures, and how to build the existing terrain surface. |
| Utilizing Data Shortcuts and XREFs by Mike Robertson | ||
984 KB | Learn the differences between Civil3D Data Shortcuts and Autocad Reference Files (Xrefs) and when to use each. We'll show you how to keep your references and shortcuts valid when moving files. How do Civil3D projects tie into all of this? |

Bringing together a large plans set and an electronic delivery from a variety of contributors is challenging. FDOT Sheet Set Organizer (SSO) was designed to complement AutoCAD's Sheet Set Manager to create project wide plans plotting and indexing, and help meet FDOT Electronic Delivery requirements in an AutoCAD world. SSO essentially is the AutoCAD counterpart of Sheet Navigator and Electronic Delivery Indexer (EDI) provided by FDOT for MicroStation. Come see how this tool will be applied to manage and assemble plans sets. |
| Sign Tool by Jimmie Prow | ||
670 KB | Get the first look at a new application FDOT developed for sign placement. It assists in the placement, labeling and automation of quantities for signs assemblies. |

This workshop is an entry level overview of the FDOT2010 Drainage tools available for use within the FDOT2010 workspace. During the workshop the student will use all of the Drainage tools within the FDOT2010 menu on a provided dataset. |
| So I've got this model. Now what? by Brad Eiler | ||
328 KB | In this session we will see how the model can be used on the design side to spot potential design problems, locate conflicts and can be rendered for public presentation. You will see how to apply materials to a model, view your drainage and utilities in 3D, and create simple animations. You will be surprised and how quick and easy it is. |
| Non-Standard Electronic Delivery by Bruce Dana | ||
693 KB | This session will discuss a few "non-standard" electronic delivery issues, like a project with a character in its FPID, or projects that contains a large number of manually indexed sheets, or revisions tostrung projects. Also some tips on management of large projects, and strategy to work efficiently between your server and workstation. |
| MicroStation XM to V8i (Tips & Tricks) by Jimmie Prow | ||
