Airport Data Form - Instrument
Approach Procedures
This Federal Aviation Administration
(FAA) form is used to request new Instrument Approach Procedures (IAPs) or to
report Runway, Elevation, or other data changes that affect
existing IAPs.

in adverse weather.
The NAS consists of approximately 13,000 instrument flight procedures, including:
- Over 1,000 Instrument Landing System (ILS)
- Over 1,700 Non-Directional Beacon (NDB)
- Over 2,700 VHF Omni-Directional Range (VOR)

This FAA website page provides a good
information to better understand the overall process for
requesting a new Instrument Flight Procedure (IFP), including
an IFP Brochure, and IFP Flow Chart, an IFP Request Form, and a searchable database of IFP Request Status Reports.
Instrument Approach Procedures -
Schedule
This FAA website page provides the
production plan for Area Navigation (RNAV, LNAV, or LNAV/VNAV)
Instrument Flight Procedures based on Global Positioning
System (GPS) technology that will be developed and published
at an identified airport and runway end during each quarter
of the specified year. This database is searchable by
geographic region, fiscal year, and airport identifier.
Additionally, please see the following definitions and
descriptions of instrument approach terms:
- Global Positioning System (GPS)
