Approved Product List of Traffic Control Signal & ITS Devices (APL)
Per Florida Statute 316.0745, the State Traffic Operations Office has the responsibility of certifying (pre-approving) all official traffic control signals and traffic control signal devices. This includes certain related ancillary equipment or materials used during the construction and/or maintenance of a signalized intersection. Pre-approved traffic control signals, traffic control signal devices, and related ancillary equipment is kept on the Department's Approved Product List or APL. The APL also includes ITS Devices and Traffic Monitoring equipment such as count, speed, and classification equipment.

    Qualified Product List (QPL)
The Product Evaluation Section is the initial point of contact for those seeking to introduce manufactured products to the Department, and to provide guidance on the appropriate process to follow for further action.  The Product Evaluation Section is most widely known for maintaining the Qualified Products List (QPL), a published list of products that have been evaluated against implemented FDOT Specifications and Standards, and found to meet those Standards. This Section also functions in the area of New Product Review, as an initial point of contact for the introduction of new products, materials and technologies for consideration and potential use by the Department.
