-- The Florida Department of Transportation's websites will be unavailable due to data center consolidation
and relocation activities, beginning Thursday, November 10, 2011, 6:00 PM (EST). Services should resume
by Monday, November 14, 2011 6:00 AM. We apologize for any inconvenience.
The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) provides opportunities for you to learn about transportation projects in your area. You are invited to attend these events. See the listing of all public meeting notices.
The department also conducts a number of statewide initiatives and we encourage your comment and participation. The listing on the right will provide you with links to information about these activities and how you can become involved.
Bicycle and Pedestrian Partnership Council -- The Florida Department of Transportation has established a statewide initiative on bicycle and pedestrain mobility. The Bicycle and Pedestrian Partnership Council will make policy recommendations to FDOT and transportation partners throughout Florida on the state's walking, bicycling and trail facilities. See www.dot.state.fl.us/planning/policy/bikeped/ for more information.
Florida Rail System Plan Development -- The Florida Rail System Plan looks at both passenger and freight rail issues.
It is updated every two years as required by 341.302(3)
Florida Statutes. We encourage anyone with an interest in the future of rail in Florida to participate by attending meetings and/or providing
written comments. Together we can make rail work for all of us.
Florida Transportation Plan Update -- The Florida Transportation Plan (FTP)
establishes long range goals to provide a policy framework for expenditure of federal and state transportation funds in Florida. The Florida Department of
Transportation is leading the effort in updating this Plan to respond to new trends and challenges to meet the future mobility needs of Florida's residents,
visitors and businesses. Please visit the project website at www.2060ftp.org to get involved in the process.
Seaport System Plan Development -- Even though each of Florida's public seaports
are independently operated, managed, and planned, with collective efforts coordinated through the Florida Ports Council, FDOT has planning and funding responsibilities
for seaports. See the detailed project website for more information.
